Pillsbury Star-Spangled Slab Pie

It’s almost the 4th of July and you’ve just been invited to a party in which you are responsible for the dessert. What are you going to make?

This Pillsbury Star-Spangled Slab Pie is sure to be a hit at any holiday celebration. Only 7 ingredients and serves up to 24 people. Total Time: 2 hours 10 minutes

Ingredients:

3 pillsbury pie crusts, softened according to the package instructions (2 boxes)
1/4 cup sugar, divided
2 pkgs (8oz) cream cheese, softened
12 oz (2 oz) lemon burst yogurt
Juice and zest from 1 lemon
6 cups of assorted berries; strawberries, blackberries, blueberries and raspberries
1 13.5oz container of strawberry glaze

Directions:

Preheat oven to 450F. Unroll 2 pie crusts onto a floured surface and roll out to a 17x12  inch rectangle. Press into a 15x10x1 inch baking sheet. Crimp around the edges as shown in picture, making edges even with baking sheet. Prick crust several times with fork.

Bake 10 minutes until golden brown, let cool completely about 30 minutes.  While that is baking roll out another pie crust on a floured surface to a 12” circle. Cut out different sized stars with your star cookie cutters. (Less than $8.00 on Amazon)  Place 1” apart on a large ungreased cookie sheet, brush with water and sprinkle with 1 tablespoon of sugar. Bake 5-7 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on sheet for 1 minute, then remove onto a rack and let cool 15 minutes.

While that’s baking combine in a medium size bowl the remaining sugar, cream cheese, yogurt, lemon juice and zest. With a hand mixer blend the pie filing until smooth. Pour into the crust lined baking sheet and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

When the pie filling has finished cooling, in a large bowl mix together the berries and strawberry glaze and pour on top. Add the stars ⭐️ on top of the berry mixture. Refrigerate until ready to serve. Yum Yum!
