Buttermilk Fried Chicken

This Buttermilk Fried Chicken recipe is easy to make and serves 4. Takes about an hour to make and your family will love it. Need more chicken then double this recipe.

Ingredients:

2-3lbs Fryer, cut into pieces or buy your favorite pieces totaling that weight (for me I’d buy breasts and legs)
Salt and pepper, to taste
Buttermilk
1 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme +sprigs for garnish
Oil for frying

Directions:

Wash and pat dry your chicken pieces. Salt and pepper both sides, to taste. Place in a bowl and cover with buttermilk. Let stand in buttermilk for 30 minutes. In a shallow bowl combine the flour and dried thyme. Roll the chicken pieces in the flour mixture until coated. In a large skillet heat the oil (at least 1/4th filled) Add the chicken and cook one side 8-10 minutes, then turn it over a cook the other side. Lower the heat, cover and continue cooking until the chicken is tender, about 30 minutes. Yum Yum!
