Sweet & Sour Chicken

I had to add this Sweet & Sour Chicken recipe, because Pillsbury made it super simple and easy to make. If you looked at my Sesame Chicken yesterday or my Orange Chicken you’ll notice that they have a lot of ingredients.

In fact, when I started this website Orange Chicken was one of the first recipes I added, because it’s a favorite of my granddaughter Caitlyn. Because I didn’t have very many of the ingredients, it kinda shocked me when I went to the grocery store. Long story short, this is why I love this 5 ingredient Sweet & Sour Chicken. Serves 4 Total Time: 25 minutes...a great weekday dinner!

Ingredients

2 tablespoons vegetable oil
4 skinless boneless chicken breasts, cut into 1” pieces
1 red bell pepper, cut into 3/4” pieces
1 10oz bottle of sweet & sour sauce (3/4 cup)
1 8oz can pineapple tidbits, drained
Cashews for garnish (optional)
Sliced green onion for garnish (optional)
Rice for serving (optional)

Directions:

In a 10-inch skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat. Add chicken; cook 5 to 6 minutes, stirring occasionally, until no longer pink in center. Add bell pepper and sweet-and-sour sauce; cook 3 to 4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until bell pepper is tender. Stir in pineapple; cook 1 to 2 minutes or until hot. Garnish with cashews and sliced green onions, if desired. Serve over rice. Yum Yum!
