Crockpot Sloppy Joes

This is a meal you can throw together in the morning or early afternoon and have Sloppy Joes for dinner....and who doesn’t like Sloppy Joes! Got this recipe from a book that came with my 1st crockpot back in the ‘70’s. It doesn’t tell me how many servings, but with 3 lbs of ground beef I’d say around 8, wouldn’t you? Total Time: well it depends on if your using high which is 3-4 hours + prep time or low 8-10 hours + prep time.

Ingredients:

3 lbs of ground beef
1-2 onions, finely chopped
1 green pepper, seeded and chopped
2 8oz cans tomato sauce
1 can diced tomatoes
2 stalks celery, chopped
1 cup water
2 pkts sloppy joe seasoning
Salt, to taste

Directions:

Brown ground beef in a skillet, pour into a colander and rinse well. Put the meat into the crockpot along with the remaining ingredients and mix well. Cook low 8-10 hours or high 3-4 hours. If too much liquid, set on high and remove cover the last 30 minutes of cooking. Yum Yum!

You’ll need a crockpot for this recipe
