Ham Broccoli and Cheese Tortellini

Found a ham and cheese tortellini recipe that I'm mixing up a bit. Instead of peas😝 I'm going to substitute broccoli, add 1/2 yellow onion and use the tri-colored tortellini. This is also a great recipe if you have leftover ham. In the comments section check out my family's reviews.

Ingredients:

1 1 1/2 lb ham steak or leftover ham, cut in 1-inch cubes
2 9 oz packages of tri-colored tortellini
1 stalk of broccoli, chopped
1 tablespoon butter
1/2 yellow onion, chopped
1 cup chicken broth
1/4 cup heavy cream
1 cup white cheddar, shredded
1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, shredded
Salt and pepper to taste

Directions:

In a medium size skillet melt the butter then add the chopped onions. Cook until softened and golden brown then add the cubed ham and cook an additional 5 minutes. Add the broccoli, chicken broth and tortellini (salt and pepper to taste) bring to boil then reduce heat and let simmer for 12 minutes (required time stated on tortellini package) When the tortellini is tender pour into a 9" oven proof baking dish unless your skillet is oven proof add in the cream and the white cheddar stir. Sprinkle with the Parmesan cheese and broil for 2-3 minutes or until the cheese is golden and bubbly. Yum Yum.
